A company is defined in a legal context, as an entity that manufactures or sells products (also known as goods), or provides services as a commercial venture or a corporation. The etymology behind company comes from old Spanish compañero, old French compaignie and is derived from the Latin companio which means "the person you share your bread with" which is very interesting. Companies when it is on the corporate side has a distinguishing feature because that is when people share common assets and reap the benefits of those assets together. In other words greed and looking out for nobody else but yourself does not belong within the confines of a legitimate business.
