Proactive

When you grow up in New York, you go to it, you don’t expect it to come to you. Maybe some of the tools we learn as New Yorkers—I don’t know if the word is aggressive, but be proactive.

(Omar Minaya, first Hispanic General Manager in Major League Baseball)

It's always better to be proactive, it enhances and makes life more exciting. When you are consistantly going out there and doing something good things start to happen. When you are just sitting around and watching don't expect things to happen because nothing positive ever comes out of that behavior.
