In Time

Nine-tenths of wisdom is being wise in time.

(Theodore Roosevelt, Former President of the U.S.A.)

A wise person has to know when and when not to use his wisdom. It is better at times to let people figure out how to do things because if you always do tasks for them it will cripple those individuals for life.

Believes

He who believes in nobody knows that he himself is not to be trusted.

(Red Auerbach, HOF Basketball Coach)

One has to trust in somebody or something in life. If a person does not believe in anything than that person lives a hopeless life. A person can do miraculous things when he/she believes.

Honor

I learned that there were people who didn't care about color being a measure of superiority or inferiority. What mattered was the dignity of one's heart and the honor of one’s word.

(Piri Thomas, Hispanic Author)

People's actions are a true measure of their character. Many times what people say and what they ultimately do contrast greatly. Remember your action's, not what you say define who you are as a person.

Technique

You can not do what you want to do unless you know the correct technique. The only other way you can learn how to do it is by doing it yourself, which would take twice as long than if you went to school.

(Boris Vallejo, Peruvian Artist)

Art school is different from life university, for in the school of life applicable wisdom is more valuable than theoretical knowledge. You can learn about something till you are blue in the face but the wisdom that remains with you for the rest of your life is in the act of doing. In other words, the phrase "life, be in it" is what increases your experience and wisdom levels.

They All Said

The first time I tried to sing along with my guitar, everybody in the studio booed. They all said it wouldn't work.

(George Benson, Jazz Musician)

Always believe in yourself and your vision. There will always be naysayers who will find every excuse in the world as to why you can't succeed. By staying focused on your objective you will achieve what you strive for. Remember success is a state of mind.

Proactive

When you grow up in New York, you go to it, you don’t expect it to come to you. Maybe some of the tools we learn as New Yorkers—I don’t know if the word is aggressive, but be proactive.

(Omar Minaya, first Hispanic General Manager in Major League Baseball)

It's always better to be proactive, it enhances and makes life more exciting. When you are consistantly going out there and doing something good things start to happen. When you are just sitting around and watching don't expect things to happen because nothing positive ever comes out of that behavior.

Constant

They must often change, who would be constant in happiness or wisdom.

(Confucius, Chinese philosopher)

What made you happy in the past is not necessarily what will make you happy in the future. People are constantly changing and evolving with the accumulation of life experiences they gather for themselves. Those individuals who do not seem to change have never gone out to experience life to the fullest, they have just decided to stay in their little niche and remain reclusive.
